Why learn cooking?
top
Cooking is one skill that intrinsically keep on giving .  I love cooking because it brings people together – it’s a celebration of culture, sharing and indulgence.  In Thai culture, this is even more so – food is centrepiece in any family, community or cultural events.

Why do it with Ying Thai Cooking Lesson?
Why not 🙂  I do this because I really believe this will bring joy for you and for me.  You get to improve yourself with the knowledge of Thai culture and cuisine. And we’ll have fun learning, chatting, cooking and eating along the way!  I’ll also provide you with the recipe and check in with you every now and then to see you’re doing okay with recreating the dishes.

I don’t know where to start. How do I decide which dish to learn first?
Don’t worry! Start with the things you’d like to eat.  Alternatively, we could have a chat so I get to know your taste preference better.  Then I’ll make you some recommendations on the dishes.

So, my place or yours?
I recommend we have it at your place.  This is so you get comfortable learning during our lesson and familiar reproducing the cooking afterwards.

Do you clean up after the lesson?
Yes.  I generally make it a point to always leave the premise cleaner than when I arrive.  I also generally like to keep the station clean – as they say, it’s a sign of a good cook 🙂

How do I book?
You could either drop me an email at ying.thai.catering@gmail.com or complete the “Contact Us” form on this website.  I’m looking to implement automated online booking system (with availability and all those bells and whistles) in the future.

Do you only do cooking lessons?
I offer private party / private chef service.   If you haven’t experienced this, you must at least try it once – see my answer in the next question.  For a bigger crowd function, I also offer catering services.  In the future, I’m contemplating Thai cooking activities for kids/teenaagers – will keep you posted 🙂

So what’s a private party like?
So much fun and you’ll feel a little bit fancy!  You’ll look after your guests better since we’ll be looking after the food for you and your guests.  We’ll make sure to put in a bit more showmanship
